Transgender medicine
It can be difficult to find a physician who is knowledgeable about the unique issues faced by transgender patients.
Dr. Zwiener is committed to assisting transgender, intersex, and gender diverse individuals throughout their transition process. She is comfortable initiating and maintaining hormone therapy, can refer you to surgeons and/or mental health professionals if needed, will help navigate the name and gender-marker change process, and is happy to provide letters for gender confirmation surgeries. Her office is a welcoming environment: we will use your chosen name and pronouns, and will always treat you with the highest level of respect. Since she is out of network with insurance companies, your medical records will be kept completely confidential; they will never be shared with your employer or any other third party, unless you request them to be. Additionally, she can manage related aspects of your health, such as cancer screenings (mammograms, pap smears, and prostate exams) and basic primary care.
